Gas has risen in our city from 89.9/litre a couple of months ago to 107.9 last week. It just took a drastic jump at the pumps to 113.9/L this week.

Last summer it was at an all-time high of 119.9/L...we were all scrambling to dump trucks and other big boats (AKA gas guzzlers) and buy up cars that were tiny but great on mpg.

Nothing has changed overseas significantly enough to justify this. No one seems to have the answer. Is it corporate greed on the part of the oil companies?

Check your receipts when sending a parcel or even buying stamps. There is a fuel tax added. (Quality-added? I think not! laugh )

I've just heard about the citizen's protest in the USA to not pump gas on May 15, 2007. If every Canadian followed their lead maybe we would all be heard.

It might just make the oil barons sit up and pay attention.

What do you think?

I'd love to see a day where there was a mass, continent-wide gasoline boycott. Just to see if it would have an effect.

I don't think a mass one-day boycott will do much.

It would have to be repeated a few times to show big oil that consumers mean business.

Almost impossible to coordinate, though, but worth a try.

Four years ago I switched to a diesel vehicle and now I hardly give fuel prices a second thought.

Getting 50 to 60 mpg does that to you. Can't help but be smug. Sorry.

By the way, if any here are considering a switch to a more economical car, check out this site:

They are paying attention, unfortunately the massive cost when the oil runs out.
To redo infrastructure to handle another fuel is also going to cost like billions of dollars, and who do you think pays for that. Hmmmm the guy at the pump, well can't say its all that greed some to.
peace
Oh and don't forget the high wages, higher costs for road repairs and on and on.
But yes it does suck.

so what gas costs. Big deal...Yet its all the people with the expensive cars, big suv's, boats etc who are crying a river.

If you can afford the big toys quit complaining about gas prices.

professor Well yes, The Gas Station attendants do have rather profound comments for me, They are Amazed at How Many Big Trucks I own and Drive every day and how little Gas I buy... wow

They are also most perplexed by the fact that I don't really care how much Fuel costs and I do know the owners of Big Oil Companies...

UNION76 was Started in Ventura California

I have Tured and greatly understand exactly what Gasoline is as do they...

If you run a 4 cycle engine, then you are running on H2/Hydrogen, so you are faced with a choice...

Will you run your engine on Water for Free???

Or Will you run your engine on Gasoline at $5.00 per Gallon or more???

Whatever the price of Fuel is, I pay 75% less and I go ten times farther with less wear and tear on my engines...grin

professor "The "gas out" scheme doesn't call upon people to _use_ less gasoline, but simply to shift their date of purchase and buy gas a day earlier or later than they usually would The very same amount of gasoline is sold either way, so oil companies don't lose any money."professor

See it for your self

This bites. I guess we all just use French Fries Oil to power our car..mmmm I'm hungry now
