Agree with you on F1 - I lost interest some time ago. I've been enjoying anything production-based, and of course, hard to find on the tube. Sounds like, however, F1 may be getting interesting again.
The only thing scarier than how good he is is that he is Fernando Alonsos' team mate. It will be interesting to see how much he is allowed to race by his team. But even if they don't allow much racing between the two following Alonso should give him excellent experience.
Yes I did mean 1-2. I haven't seen him race yet. Read about his results in Autoweek. I agree hardly worth watching some years. I was mad that they tried to send Schumacher out with a bang last year. Was glad Alonso won. Hamilton sounds like Montoya only quicker. Too bad J.P.M. is in Nascar now. The two of them might have had some interesting duals if they had gotten together on the track.
I'm generally not a huge race fan but F1 is still better than that ridiculous NASCAR. You have to be a real redneck to get excited about people taking left turns all day I guess F1 is too complicated for them
I agree immidiate results seem necessary just look what happened to Jensen Button. I hope Raikkonen gets up to speed. Could be like the old Schumacher, Haikkonen days. I really did enjoy watching then.
Hey a little off topic but do you guys have WRC on air in Canada. The FIA pulled the plug on the Speed channel didn't like thier coverage. Been two years now. I miss it.
Yeah, that's interesting, now that you mention it. I haven't seen any WRC lately.
SpeedChannel...They should change name to NASCAR channel. Then again, they're just catering to the predominant motorsport of interest on the continent.
What happened to Button? Is he gone too? Or yeah, he's with a second tier team, right?
Button is driving for Honda still as far as I know. Just running middle of the pack. Just another young gun with first season top fives who fell through the cracks.
I agree about the Nascar channel. But what do you do, at least they still have Speed world challenge and American Le Mans series coverage. I wish they still covered the 24 hours of Le Mans in real time. I really enjoyed it when they did that.
You hit the nail on the head. Money, that's why I can find out who won the nascar race 80 times a day, but only get 3 or 4 paragraphs about WRC in autoweek. Heck they even sent me a Nascar preseason special issue this year. Et Tu? Autoweek.
Hey thanks for the thread man. Here's to hoping Hamilton can live up to the hype. That's alot of pressure on a young driver.

Stopped following it lately because it got so boring, like a high speed parade, predictable results, but it's caught my eye again this season.
A new driver from Britain, Lewis Hamilton, the first black driver in F1, just came 2nd in his 3rd race, the Bahrain GP.
The amazing thing is in the previous 2 races, Australia and Malaysia, he also finished on the podium (the top 3).
That's never been done before. It's unheard of in the history of the sport.
Sounds like this guy is going to make the world forget fast about Michael Schumacher (the 7-time world driving champion from Germany).
