Growing up we all had someone we looked up to. Someone we loved spending time with and who taught us a lot in life. Who influenced you who did you look up to and who did you admire for their wisdom?
For me it is not just one person either. I have to say my Grandmother (she just passed away in October) she was kind, loving, caring and treated everyone equal. She had the greatest advice and she was a Grandmother who went with time and was not stuck in the old ways.
Then my dad. Sure we had conflicts and butted heads but i have to say i learned a tremendous amount of things from him that as a kid i didn't appreciate but today as an adult i am thankful for. He is smart, talented in many ways and what ever he starts turns out great.
My moms strength is what i admire most about her. Strength as in physical and mental. She is a small woman and if the wind blows strong enough it will knock her over. Honestly i could carry her away under one arm but she has an inner strength which is remarkable. She works like a horse and goes on and on and on. I think she would be great in the commercial for the energizer bunny lol.
As much as I love both my parents they have made thier mistakes that have been very hurtful growing up and yes even sometimes as a adult. The best that I can do for myself and my children is to not make the same mistakes that they have made so that MY children will hopefully look up to ME.

Well, aside from my parents I'd have to say my old bass teacher, Ed Deitz. He was an amazing man who inspired me greatly, and taught me important lessons about having fun without destroying yourself or compromising your morals. It was only at his funeral that I learned that he played something like 8 instruments at the professional level and had actually won a Pulitzer prize for journalism to boot (no kidding)!
Love you Ed. Hope I get to see you on the other side.
I would have to say that my son has influenced me most. Not in the same way as many people think. (Many say a parent for example). Because of my son, I have learned many things...to think "outside the box", to question things, to understand things, to accept some things...and to NOT accept other things. I am a different person now, than I was 10 years ago, because of what I have learned from his experiences.
