Yes, but only for murder with additional aggravating facts
the only problem with the judge giving a murderer for example 25 yrs only they usually end up serving less due to good behaviour. if the judge says 25 yrs than thats what he should serve.
but for a life sentence it should be more than 25 yrs as if a man/women of 20 yrs old gets 25 yrs he/she is out by the time they are 45, so still have another 20 to 30 yrs left to live a normal life out of prison and in most cases to kill again.
