I am taking a course in applied counseling. I can go into the government and work for CFS or FS or EI or Income assistance and so on.

I can also go into the private sector and work for something like grieve counselors, abused children counseling and victims of domestic violence and so on. The possibilities are endless.

Domestic violence and abused children are my first choice.

I could also go and work in a jail, as i said possibilities are endless.

Thanks TrueNorth!!handshake

I admire your desire for that type of work.

I could never do that. Too depresssing. Too much bad news.

Hearing about tragedy day in and day out would not make me a happy camper.

I wanted a job where i can help people and make a difference. If i can only help one child achieve a better life in the time i work there than that is one child with a brighter future!

I love interacting with people i am, for my online friends anyhow, somewhat of a shrink lol
Everyone comes running to me if they have a problem and i enjoy helping people so why not make a profession out of it?

Well thats how i got the idea anyhow. My dad tells me that it will be a dead end job and no good and puts my decision down in any aspect that he can think of.

But this is something i want to do, something i think i will be good at, something i think i will enjoy and be rewarded. I am not doing the job for the money really. I mean the income is muchly appreciated but as i said i want to do something where i feel good at.
And i think this is it.

Thanks everyone. You can not even imagine how exited i am. I want to go to school right NOW!
Is there even school at 8:22 pm? lol

OMG i can't wait till October. I wish you ALL were here i would celebrate honestly!

banana cheering yay

It's really nice to hear this kind of stuff and congratulations Kenai. Honestly I don't think I could do that type of work, I'm not being negative. I've always thought it took a pretty special type of person for that. I've known a few people in that area of work and they are very passionate about it. Don't know what's up with your dad, but you should never stand in some ones way when they are so passionate about something......If he thinks you can't handle it or it's not right for you he should step back and allow you to determine that for yourself, being supportive.

Again, congrats girlapplause

Way to go.

What school are you going to attend? Is this program a diploma or degree?

Good luck.
