As Mr. Twain says, we disguise our own self-interest, and yes - selfishness - with a lot of facades, some of them more attractive than others. But no matter how enchanting Oz is, there's always a man behind the curtain.

I think of this like a pressure release valve.

There's that persistent nagging as we sit in our state of relative comfort.. the thread becomes nothing as a mirror to egos, leaving out the interest in the matter discussed ..
Its annoying and so all thoughts and good deeds become a sort of karmic reciprocative action by blocking the equilibrium to our inner scale versus actual good, inflicting that fundamental self-interest and EGO..
