A business man meets a beautiful woman who accepts to spend the afternoon with him for $ 500. Before leaving her, he tells to her that he doesn't have any money on him and that his secretary will send her a check for "renting of apartment." But, on the path of the office, he regrets what he made and esteem that that was not worth the cost. He asks therefore his secretary to send a check of $ 250, with the following word:
"Dear Mrs., please find a check of $ 250 enclosed for the renting of your apartment. I don't send the agreed amount because, while renting your lodging, I believed 1) That it had never been occupied 2) That it was heated 3) And that it was small enough so that I feel there at home. Unfortunately, I discovered that it had already been occupied, that there was not a heating and that it was a lot too big."
After receipt of this note, the woman returns him his check, with the following message:
"Dear Mr., How could you imagine that an as beautiful apartment remained vacant until your arrival? For what is the heating, it doesn't miss any; it was sufficient for you to switch on. Finally, I assure you that the rented space is not bigger than elsewhere. Don't blame the owner if you don't have enough furniture to furnish it."
