ok all you computer type people ... whats better?

I just got a latop for fathers day and I am having alittle trouble trying to find certain programs within Vista. Now, I'm not much of a computer type person, myself - but I do know a few tricks.

I have a PC that has XP and I think its great! Now that I have my laptop ....... I figure once I learn all the little Quark's, I'll be looking for a PC with Vista in it

......... but is it worth it? dunno

Personally I work on pc's all day ,won't touch vista nor will my programmer friends.
Still has a lot of bugs and if you're using non original programs it will detect them and shut them down,it checks for authenticity ids.
XP is as far as I'll go until I hear from my friends but the choice is up to u.

I own my own technical business and purchased a new computer with vista on it. As soon as I looked at it and found out that over half of my programs would have to be re-purchased I wiped the hard drive and put XP on it. Vista is to new and has far to many problems to be a consideration. Microsoft should give the customer the choice of both types and explian that the new own will not work most existing programs.very mad

I am quite happy with my XP and wouldn't touch Vista with a 10 foot pole until it is in "2nd edition" stage...

I personally have seen Vista that a client had on a new laptop and I did NOT like it at all!

Well vista right away, go duel core and have minimum 1gb of ram (Preferably 2gb of ram)
I use vista now, and have had no problems with it.
Most.... not all but the bigger companies, have vista versions for installing drivers.
For machines already set up, the guess work is less.
But who gets them, many now pick and chose each part.
Then you better find out in advance, if it runs well with vista.
It takes some research but oh well.
If its out of date probably wont work.
They don't seem to want to take the time for hardware thats to old and making it vista friendly.
In the end my home computer runs vista, and my lap top runs xp.
Hmm they both work fine.
Just be prepared and know what your doing if you get vista.
peace

I have one home computer running WIN ME ,
the other home computer running XP.

My new laptop came with vista and before I paid any money I thought long and hard (5 mins maby I think fast) about buying the laptop.

But I thought what ever I can wipe the hard drive.
The ONLY reson I didnt want the vista was that
it Is a
(tattal tail operating system)
as stated above.

My laptop is an acer and I <3 it ( <3 means love heart)

love all the built in features. love that it auto detects internet etc

the programs are not hidden . the operating system is more stream lined
but like the joke you have to learn to drive again (but if your a good driver it will take you all of a few moments.

As far as the Tataltale part of vista ive already figured out ways around that so.

Ya my laptop is still running Vistadrinking

It has to stay clean anyway as it has to TRAVEL and I dont need no problems (so if you keep you computer clean it wont have any thing to tell)
Ive got songs loaded in it etc no problemos.
Just dont do the computer crimes and vista will give you no hassel

The only program that crys at me to buy the full version is noton. and after my norton got attacked with a virus and I had to deleat norton on my XP computer.
The first time norton told me it was runnin I so thought about deleting it.

there 4 I like vista just keep you nose clean you will have no problems
