creeping each morning
over the edge of your life.
First a gentle gleam
mere shaft of light
against the clouds
around you
growing to a rich
and golden glow
shining through the windows
of your eyes to touch
the soul within
May noonday, that
huge bowl of light,
fill the best part of your life
with love
the only shadows
short and fleeting
at your feet
and though
the shadows lengthen
as the zenith passes
they are but blankets now
against the cooling years
leading down to twilight
and completion
as love guides you gently into sleep
and weaves you gentle dreams
through all eternity
