rain falls, softly, caressing the warm earth,
insinuating its way to the tiny seeds, in their longing,
yearning to grow and fulfil their destiny,
to give birth to their image of perfection,
a timeless vision, needing only,
the gentle touch of a kindred spirit,
materiality melting into the light of love
delight, as deep as forever, leaps forth
all around the rampant flames of attraction
burn blissfully, growing stronger, building higher
the world becomes a joyous place
gone is the agony of being alone,
anxious yearning is replaced,
with a satisfying longing,
an intense coaster ride of emotion,
heightening each second , every glance,
a simple touch sparking a million volts,
a moment’s separation, unbearable pain.
and if we could stand aside and look,
the error of our ways would be brought to book.
the primping and preening and self critique,
flexing and jogging, improving physique,
add nothing to our romantic allure,
but what we do need, is to feel secure,
immanent and transcendent joined and sure.
