Evening people,

I am wondering if anyone has thoughts about Atlantis.

Now there’s a lot of stuff out there abut aliens, a superior race, and just a lot of stuff.

Now only one writer has really written about Atlantis and that’s Plato.

The story of Atlantis begins quite literally with two of Plato’s dialogues, Timaeus and Critias. These accounts are the only known written records which refer specifically to a lost civilization called Atlantis.

Now in these dialogues, Plato is working with a morality story but I think that it is based on a true event.

You have to remember that Plato’s world did not extend into the Atlantic Ocean. His world was Greece and the Aegean. You have to take this in account.

I am sure that everyone is aware of Mt. St. Helens and when it blew.
The explosion of Santorini has been measured.

The explosion of a volcano on Santorini was equal to the 1883 Krakatau explosion and maybe more.

There is a kernel of truth in every myth or legend. Many of them are based on real events.
A volcano blew in the Ancient World.
The explosion rates high scientifically even though it’s an old one.
Vesuvius was nothing compared to it.
This thing caused earthquakes and tsumani.

Plato mentions the colours of Santorini. He specifically mentions the dirt in his dialogues. You dig in the earth of Santorini and you will find red, black, and white.

A great catastrophe will linger in people’s minds. Stories of it will be passed long and the stories will become garbled and embellished but no one can deny that Santorini is Atlantis.

Not to be enigmatic here but Atlas shrugged.

In ancient times Atlas was believed to support the world on his shoulders.
Atlas shrugged and Santorini blew sky high.

Any thought on this thread?
