I met a woman from another site last winter. She didn't have a picture and said her body type was average. She's a really sweet lady but was pressuring me by email to meet so we went for a coffee. I met her at the mall and couldn't even look at her. You remember the movie, "Throw Mamma From the Train"? She must have landed softly cuz that was her. Sorry to sound shallow, but......
Oh my you poor thing, but didn't you ask to see a pic before your met her..Even though she had no pic on the site, she could have emailed you one. I won't meet anyone that I have not seen a picture for yet and I won't..and luckily the people I met with were the one in the pics.

Best first meeting is for a coffee in a public place.....a date implies more and it's a little harder to walk out if things don't click,expectations are a bit higher on a proper date I'd say.
I agree coffee meeting...or another one that works great is a lunch date during the week....have to get back to work so everyone goes in knowing it will be an hour and if it really sucks or creeps you out you can say you just stoped by quickly because you have a early meeting or something...
Oh by the way I have been scarce lately....would love to say it is because I met someone and have been having the time of my life...not true...but have gone out for cofffee a lot...lol

OMG I really have to go way back 
THe most enjoyable date - 1967 YEP!
He asked me out to a disco, and when I seen him trying to calm down a ex-girlfriend, I walked out and went to another disco, without even thinking of the date I left behind, then he walked in walked over to me and said "I thought I lost you" searching for me for a few hours
Had the best evening ignoring him, and having him watch me having a good time and noticed he was not enjoying the evening at all
Was the best date I had
why?
Because secretly I loved this guy and to know he felt the same was "priceless"
We got married 3 months later

My best first date was simple.Had been talking to this certain guy online and we finally decided to meet for coffee.Only thing was no sitter,so I invited him for supper instead and he came over.
He survived the initial meeting with my girl enjoyed the meal(I make a mean lasagna) and when it was time for him to head home,we ended up talking in the parking lot until 3 am.
Nothing fancy but totally enjoyable.
The worst one was meeting a guy for coffee (from another site) being in public and having him try to remove my tonsils with his tongue when we were saying goodbye..........lost my nose stud pulling away from him and have refused every contact from him since.The blocking device is a marvelous thing.

I went out for a great dinner & intelligent conversation, which included humor & music & then later American Idol Karaoke. Lots of fun. Kept it really light. Super time!
