I can tell you as much about Poland as someone living there because Polish culture is part of my culture, I speak Polish as well as I speak Russian, Lithuanian or English, and I go to Poland very often so I see all the changes going on there.
If you are interested in Eastern Europe, just type "In Your Pocket" in your Google search bar, and you will find a lot of information about many countries, cities and tourist destinations in Europe, mostly Eastern Europe, but also some West European countries are there as well.
All these books are available in print and can be ordered online, but all the essential information is in their Internet version. Just click on the country/town you would like to "visit", then on the menu above to choose the subject about this place, and then choose what you want in the menu column on the left (some people miss it).
You will find the information there rather true and objective, though it goes with some humour and often sarcasm as if viewed by a visitor. I can agree with most things written there about Lithuania and other countries that I know well enough, so I think it is worth reading before visiting these places!
