My girl is 8 and gets a kick out of giving gifts she has made or little things she knows the person would like.
This year she's buyin cup and saucer sets from the dollar store and decorating them herself for each person on her list.
I like to people things I know they will enjoy......books,music,homade gift certificates and so on.

Home-made gifts with thought put into them are always great! Cost isn't all that important - its the thought and meaning that really counts. However, I would not be disappointed either if Santa Claus wanted to leave a Ferarri in the driveway.

One year ..many, many many eons ago, I bought a 5 gallon can of paint for my VERY distructive 5 year old nephew, my brother (his father) almost killed me
