DETROIT (AP) - A Detroit gas station owner, accused of shooting a rival to death over gas prices, is now charged with murder.
The man (Hassan Masbouth) faces an open murder count, and a charge of using a firearm while committing a felony. He's been in custody since the fatal shooting Friday outside his gas station in southwest Detroit.
Police say the 46-year old victim and several other men walked across the street to confront the suspect after he dropped his gas prices by 3 cents. A fight broke out which led to the deadly shooting.
A prosecutor says the two men had been involved in an ongoing price war.
