A young Indian boy was having difficulty understanding life. He went to the wise, old Medicine Chief and asked him to explain it. The wise old Chief said this:
Inside each of us there are two wolves. There is a good wolf and a bad wolf. The bad wolf spreads hate and distrust. He dislikes everything he comes into contact with and wages war on many. He cannot be trusted for any reason. He is not liked by those who come into contact with him.
The good wolf is the opposite. He spreads love and joy. He likes everything he comes into contact with. He wages war on none but he will protect and defend. He can be trusted. Those who come into contact of the good wolf like and trust him.
These two wolves are in a constant battle with each other. Some days the bad wolf is strong and some days the good wolf is strong, but there is a constant battle between them.
The young boy looked puzzled and asked: Which wolf wins?
The wise old Chief smiled and said: The one you feed.
