Dear loved ones,

As you well know, we are getting closer to my birthday. Every year there is a
celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated. During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many radio announcements, TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is talking that my birthday is getting closer and closer.

It is really very nice to know, that at least once a year, some people think of me. As you know, the celebration of my birthday began many years ago.
At first people seemed to understand and be thankful of all that I did for them,
but in these times, no one seems to know the reason for the celebration.
Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they don't know the meaning of the celebration.

I remember that last year there was a great feast in my honor The dinner
table was full of delicious foods, pastries, fruits, assorted nuts and chocolates.
The decorations were exquisite and there were many, many beautifully wrapped gifts.

But, do you want to know something? I wasn't invited. I was the guest of honor and they didn't remember to send me an invitation. The party was for me, but when that great day came, I was left outside, they closed the door in my face .... and I wanted to be with them and share their table.

In truth, that didn't surprise me because in the last few years all close
their doors to me. Since I wasn't invited, I decided to enter the party
without making any noise. I went in and stood in a corner. They were all
drinking; there were some who were drunk and telling jokes and laughing
at everything. They were having a grand time. To top it all, this big fat
man all dressed in red wearing a long white beard entered the room yelling
Ho-Ho-Ho! He seemed drunk. He sat on the sofa and all the children ran
to him, saying: "Santa Claus, Santa Claus" .. as if the party were in his
honor!

At 12 Midnight all the people began to hug each other; I extended my
arms waiting for someone to hug me and ... do you know ... no one hugged me. Suddenly they all began to share gifts. They opened them one by one
with great expectation. When all had been opened, I looked to see if, maybe,
there was one for me. What would you feel if on your birthday everybody shared gifts and you did not get one? I then understood that I was unwanted at that party and quietly left.

Every year it gets worse. People only remember to eat and drink, the
gifts, the parties and nobody remembers me. I would like this Christmas that
you allow me to enter into your life. I would like that you recognize the
fact that almost two thousand years ago I came to this world to give my life
for you, on the cross, to save you. Today, I only want that you believe this
with all your heart.

I want to share something with you. As many didn't invite me to their
party, I will have my own celebration, a grandiose party that no one
has ever imagined, a spectacular party. I'm still making the final arrangements.

Today I am sending out many invitations and there is an invitation for you. I want to know if you wish to attend and I will make a reservation for you and write your name with golden letters in my great guest book. Only those on the guest list will be invited to the party. Those who don't answer the invite, will be left outside.

Be prepared because when all is ready you will be part of my great party.

well, any myth or legend is starting with a true core...
someone, something at happend and the people have made a story about it.

it is not the question, if this is true or false, made up or what ever.

i still can remember, many many years ago, as i got my confirmation, the
priest ask me a simple question: do you belive in god?

without any hasitation, i directly told him my honest answer: NO

he was realy upset about this, but he ask me why!

i told him, i'm a scientist and i can't belive in things, he gave me a sad
face, so i ask him a few questions.

do you can see, feel, smell the trees, gras and flowers?

do you can touch, talk and interact with other persons?

do you think, the other persons are real or only an imagination of your
own mind?

when you think, that all this is for real, then please tell me, with
all this prof of existence around you, why do you only belive that
there is a maker?

well, he never answered my last question and i think, everyone must
find is own answers to this....

but i'm still a scientist and i can't belive in a maker, with all this
prof around me, simple as it is, i know, he exists.

just my 2 cents about it!

qed,

SK

perhaps a more important question would be" why do people feel the need to believe in a god?"

and would any such belief system break down without the inclusion of a reward? i.e. the afterlife

disclamer!!!!
not a personal attack, avoids confusion

no attack, a dmnd good question.... easy answer (for me)

i'm a scientist, i don't have any prof of a reward, so, i don't belive
in the afterlive or what ever...

but this dosen't change the reality of all the stuff around as. as nature
as teached us, everything as been made for a purpose.

just ask yourself, if everything around you is sensless, why to continue?

sometimes, the journey itself is more worth as the reward at the end.

aha, but that is the crux of the main arguement "creation or evolution"
ill agree that life and its forms are complex and at stages of our own scientific understanding, sometimes beyond our understanding, but to say that because of this complexity that there must be some higher control involved, is in my opinion a folly.
as far as senceless..well it depends on your own values of life,
Dec 4, 2006 3:50 PM CST Dear loved ones....
uhm, well, looks like, you mixed something up...

i never hav mentioned something about 'higher control'....

you also may have noticed, that i use the term 'maker' and not god.

may i borrow from someone else >

Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he senses it. But without deeper reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people.

Mmmmm - well I guess this is what sets man apart from beast, and the reason it was claimed we were made in "Gods" image. We have always had a need to know more, to try and understand more... What good it will do us now no-one knowsconfused We may know that there are billions of stars and galaxies in the universe and we may even take a shot at knowing how they were formed, how old they are and where it may all be goingprofessor But for this very moment does it all matter? No definitely not! And the same goes for the question of "If" there is a maker or creator or whatever you will call him/her/it?
All we know for sure is that we ARE here, and that we can sense ityay Enjoy every bit of it and don't waste your time! While scientists may know when the solar system will die, we all know we'll be gone long before thendunno
When your time is up, the only question that will be asked is:
What did you do with it???dunno confused

Just a thing to ponder...
If life & the universe as we know it is so complex that we have to assume there must be a "maker/designer" of some sort, than who makith the maker???confused dunno
