to be honest I know nothing of the woman...she could be a brilliant minister for all I know...I just didnt think much of her on first impressions....

I've just been talking to my sister. She told me my niece will not be employed next year. She is a teacher and the school she has been working in for the last 3 years is losing 3 teachers because of cuts.
She is 25 and has just put a deposit on a house. She now has to pull out and will lose her deposit.

Hopefully because your niece is well qualified she will find another post soon....i have a friend who looks like she may lose her home soon..she has three kids and on her own..things are tough over here at the moment also 
ladylumps: You maybe aware that the Minister for health Mary Harney announced yesterday that they will not be offering the cervical cancer vaccination programme for all 12 year old girls.
If you believe the decision to withdraw the cervical cancer vaccination programme for all 12 year old girls is wrong and should be reversed, please email the minister or go to the TODAYFM website and go to the Ray Darcey link they already have a letter done up alls you have to do is type in your name and email address. Some of the listeners there have even emailed pictures of their little girls to make a point that this child may die as a result of not giving this vaccine to younger girls.
I know the vaccine is not of any benifit to any of the women on here BUT what about our daughters in the future or our neices or grand daughters. So guys this goes for you as well your daughters live maybe cut short as a result of not giving this vaccine.
This is a cancer that can be prevented so why on earth are the Government turing it away from 12 year old girls just because it going to cost them another 8-9 million Im sure any parent would agree that there is no price that can be put on their childs life.

really glad to see this topic takin up, i wil def be goin to today fm n signin as i recently went through this myself, not actually cervical cancer but d closest stage u can get to it (thankfully got letter two wks ago to say results finally came back negative) and received treatment and i wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy. i am absolutly disguisted tat they are withdrawin it.

Well the government is holding a vote on it today so fingers crossed they will see right and bring it back for the 12 year olds. To date there are over 30,000 emails gone into our Minister for health now I wonder if Ms Harney was less these votes at the last election would she be where she is today??? I know for a fact a lot of women voted for her because shes a "woman" and are now regretting it.
Keep emailing everyone about it and keep this topic and the issue of screening going!!
