Dreaming and the Astral plane (15)

Are precognitive dreams just a coincidence?

I don't think there are any coincidences. I think everything that happens has a purpose behind it and no I don't think we understand the connection most of the time.

Example:

Spiritually speaking, you have a very specific precognitive dream. You remember it in complete detail with all the 5 senses and in full color. A few weeks later you experience the very same dream, in your waking life, exactly the way you dreamed it.

Science explains this as Déjà vu, the experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously (an individual feels as though an event has already happened or has happened in the near past).
According to scientific research, the most likely explanation of déjà vu is not that it is an act of "precognition" or "prophecy," but rather that it is an anomaly of memory giving the impression that an experience is "being recalled."

I don't buy it. On the spiritual level, having had several OBEs, read a few books on the subject, and had many such dreams, I would have to conclude that we travel in the astral plane via the astral body in either the present, past, or future. I don't believe that dreaming something so specific, in color, and with the full feeling of the 5 senses is a coincidence.

What are your thoughts?

I have to agree with you. Having had OBE's and/or precognitive 'dreams'.
Science cannot explain many things. This is mainly because a recording device, specific and powerful enough to faithfully imprint information like this, has not to this point been created.

If this is an anomaly of memory - we have no reason to trust any memory of anything. And yet we do.

I think that all reality exists in the brain (or deeper) alone - Pain is experienced in the brain, not the finger that touches the flame. Wonder happens inside the skull. etc. etc.
What we experienc on this plane of existence is our collective thought forms, which, like us, is expressed as solid objects because us, and any levels below us, understand those experiences in this way (but not others higher up necessarily). Buddhism describes this 'locale' as maya (illusion), science has shown that, at the atomic level, the universe we see and experience is essentially a hologram. These are hefty subjects. They require that you learn the abc's of how you experience the world. All rules you design will fit - because, again, science and spirituality have met to claim that, whatever you believe is true. This is the way things happen. The universe will configure itself into any pattern or appearance you want it to.
when we meet the creators - they will be us.

(hi rubendario) I don't buy it either. Having had OBE's, and more recently having seen things in my mind, via remote viewing, that I couldn't possibly have known about (and later confirmed) I am more and more of the mind, that there are incredible things we can access from our own minds, independent of our current understanding of time.

I've had what I call "Paranormal Dreams" some seemed like premonitions, some were just dreams about the paranormal...lol. Others... truly felt like spiritual visitations from loved ones (and the occasional stranger) who had passed away/crossed over...some were people who had died but had not yet crossed over...
I experienced an OBE once .... well.. more like there was one in particular that I could remember more than others. I can see where it would be hard to distinguish dream from reality when it feels like you are floating and conscious or in my case I walked through a wall and was standing over my room-mate (at the time) while he was sleeping and I was talking to him. Now, he was skeptical of anything spiritual, so I wasn't going to tell him about that dream or OBE... however... about a week later he asked me out of the blue if I was in his room talking to him one night when he was trying to sleep...telling him he needed to " be more positive, and release his negative energy"...lol... I said, uh... yes and no...and told him about my experience...and I asked him a silly question... " what was I wearing? was I naked? what did my clothes look like?" and he said he couldn't tell, and no 'unfortunately' I wasn't naked..lol
So after he and I made this correlation of me being in my room and in his room at the same time, (OBE) Mr. Skeptical became a little more open minded to the possibility because he was very sure that he saw me that night,(even though he still made fun of the ghost that haunted our apartment).
I'm probably rambling..but anyhow, I know that sometimes our brain can trick us into thinking we see or experience things that aren't really there, but then sometimes we just can't explain it and at what point is it reality or not?
I'll have to post some of my Paranormal Dreams later... : )

galaxy15 and jono7, thank you for sharing your point of view, it's all fascinating stuff isn't it? Science, I think, is catching up and I would like to get to know more about remote viewing. I did have one strange experience once, where I thought I felt like I was in the middle of a large city, somewhere like Time Square in New York, wile lying down resting on the couch, at the same time. I will have to explore that one some day.

Jacy30, you have no idea how good it feels to read words by someone that has so many similar experiences and is using the same language. I can really appreciate your boldness and how you are coming forward.

Good luck and God bless!!

I have precognitive dreams all the time. I always felt that my dreams were guiding me through life, step by step, notifying me or sending clues of major changes about to take place in my life. When I look upon the past decade and the crazy dreams I had during that time, I know that I was being prepared for something major about to take place. It's like I'm going through a transformation of sorts and much of it occurred through my dreams, if you can understand that. For example, I had a dream in 2003 which inspired me to change the use of my name. It made no sense on the surface, but after weeks of ponderance, I discovered what the dream was telling me and knew, without a doubt in my mind what I needed to do. Within several months after having the dream, I had changed my name and began establishing my life around it. A few years later, I made the connection between that dream and another dream I had in June of 2000. It is very freaky, but it is awesome. The universe communicates to me through my dreams. There is no coincidence. Everything happens for a purpose.

Thanx for the confirmation.

The real freaky thing about it was, after I changed the use of my name, everything else about me and my life changed also. Slowly, over the next few years, every aspect of my life before had come to an end...including my relationship with my daughter.

I lost my job, my apartment, my daughter and I were seperated through circumstances beyond my control..she was 16 at the time..and everything in my life was now up in the air. It was like I was given a second chance or 'clean slate' of which to rebuild my life and apply what I have learned from the past to make changes and not make the same mistakes.
I feel like a brand new woman, totally different from who I was. I do miss my daughter and still keep in touch, but she blames me for everything. I pray that our relationship can be rebuilt even stronger this time.

I have had pre-cog dreams all my life and they seem to guide me in my judgements and my descision making progress in life. i would love to know more more about them and the obe's which have happened. can anybody add a link for a good site on this. thanks in advance

I used to love the idea of an astral plane and read books by robert monroe and purchased audio tapes(it was a while ago)that had both sides of the brain working at the same time.I had a small amount of success with it.
I found the more i researched the subject the more i was prone to obe's.once i had gave up thinking about it they came to a stop.

Yes, Precognitive Dreams are in fact real and coincidental. Just because you are thinking youself to be experiencing them, does not mean that the source of that Dream is your own. Most people are either senders or receivers.. Very very few can do both.

I don't believe in coincidences wether in a dream or in life, we are ment to learn no matter what the experience or the person that has come into our lives. we must learn as indvituals to reconize the lesons along the way. And make the right choices for our selves.
