Death, who takes the form of a young man, asks a media mogul to act as a guide to teach him about life on Earth and in the process he falls in love with his guide's daughter.
Bill Parrish, media tycoon, loving father and still a human being, is about to celebrate his 65th birthday. One morning, he is contacted by the Inevitable - by hallucination, as he thinks. Later, Death itself enters his home and his life, personified in a man's body: Joe Black has arrived. His intention was to take Bill with him, but accidentally, Joe's former host and Bills beautiful daughter Susan have already met. Joe begins to develop certain interest in life on earth as well as in Susan, who has no clue who she's flirting with.

This movie has everything, humor, suspense, romance, and is thought provoking. If death came to you as a person and offered you more time what would you do with it? Brad Pitt plays "death" and is great. I liked the part where the jerk in the movie gets his come-upance at the end. Love the song at the end too "Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful Life" that plays during the credits.
I like this movie. Not particularly a Brad Pitt fan but he is good in this.
I like movies that come up with new and radical concepts and make it entertaining and interesting. This is one of those...the angel of death takes a tour of what it's likes to be human.
