in memory of ronnie, who passed away on may 29th, 2022. this video is from a concert at the venerable massey hall in toronto in honour of ronnie's 60th birthday. ronnie has joined a number of the musicians (jerry lee lewis, carl perkins, levon helm and jeff healey) in this video to play the big concert in the sky. ronnie, although born an american (he became a permanent citizen in 1964), is considered the father of canadian music or rock 'n' roll. he's played with a who's who list of musicians. he was named an honorary officer of the order of canada(oc) in 2013. the canadian group, the band, was his band before they went onto fame in their own right.
