Most nights I do not bother to turn on the television before 9.30, because before then we have 16 channels of ghastly local soap operas, or even worse reality crap, or bland intellectually-insulting American 'family' situation comedies.
The fun police and the religious nutters who want to mind everyone else's business have persuaded the politicians to impose upon us bland dross during the early evening.
