Daffodils123: What do you think? are women way too fussy when it comes to men? Are we deluded searching for prince charming? Have romantic comedies made us expect too much and is unrealistic too expect the perfect guy. Is being too picky or have too much a list to tick off that a partner should meet actually rule out potential love?
Some friends accuse me of being picky. While some guys accuse me of being a snob. Should I entertain every guy that knocks even when there is nothing? Not even a half hearted spark, or a single common interest. Maybe that is picky and snob, at least not a needy ho..
lushguy4you: The story's of ancient past show Prince charming on a white horse, rescuing a damsel in distress. Today so many women have had a few experiences with guys that they shut up a barrier and become picky. Prince charming is out there but has to over come a checklist
This is the 21st century! I don't know if it's fortunately or unfortunately, but today, Rapunzel will not wait for any prince charming to climb the tower and rescue her. Instead, she will knot her hair and bungee jump herself down to her own rescue. Like the hen/egg puzzle though, I wonder. Did damsels in distress extinct first thus princes charming had no use and extinct too, or princes charming extinct first thus damsels in distress needed to learn to rescue themselves?
In any case, women today learned to know exactly what they want. They are educated, they are well established... Add to that the experience gained from past relationships and of course you have a very picky woman in your hands. Why is that so wrong?
I don't believe there are still women waiting for their prince charming. And if there are, sorry lushguy4you, but you see, the problem is not overcoming our "checklist", the problem is that princes charming have long been extinct; at least in my country they have! :(
But I'm content as long as the roles are not completely reversed - I wouldn't like to see Themiscyra revive!

In my country Prince Charming is close to extinction, if not already so, too. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing - a Prince Charming that ran to the rescue without ascertaining whether the damsel was indeed in distress, or capable of and willing to, rescue herself, did not add up to charming at all. Problem is that we continue to stereotype each other as Prince Charmings/or not, Damsels in Distress/or not, instead of dealing with each other as individuals with different needs at different times. I may be in need of rescue today, but quite willing and able to rescue my prince tomorrow.
