"Whitehead, 30, a New Jersey housewife, volunteered her services to the Infertility Center of New York last year because, she said, she wanted to help a childless couple. After psychological testing and legal counseling, she agreed to be artificially inseminated by William Stern, 40, whose wife Elizabeth, a 40-year-old pediatrician, says she cannot have children. In return, the Sterns promised to pay Whitehead $10,000 and the same amount to the center, as well as to cover about $5,000 in other expenses." - TIME.
As a woman who can give birth to babies, would you volunteer to help a childless couple have a baby?

Personally I'm not sure I could hand the baby over and not feel pain... even knowing that rightfully it was theirs. If it was for someone close, a really close friend of family member I might reconsider for them... but I wouldn't do it for any amount of money.

I understand that it would be hard. But there are women that would do it to help out a childless couple. That's why I posted this poll thread, to find out what CSers thought about it.

completely understand that, and I think the people that do it to help those who can't have children are strong and exceptionally giving women.

now i have had a baby and believe the lack of aleep and discomfort is almost unbareable in the last month i dont think i ever want to be doing that any more but if there was no one else i think i would consiter it for free. my insurance covers it and all i would need is the biger cloths and a taser. i hated people touching my belly when i was pregant. yet on the other hand the lack of sleep and discomfort would effect my son so idk it would take alot of thinking.
