the ford model t got america motoring at a relatively cheap price,as did the fiat topolino and 500 in italy,and the vw beetle in germany,but how about the other contenders?graf&stift was arguably the first front wheel drive car,even though it wasnt mass produced,or how about the iconic mini,or what was generaly accepted to be the first car produced(internal combustion),karl benz'1885 car?which would you choose?

Actually the most important car was an electric car built in 1828, by Ányos Jedlik. This predated any other auto. Then the electric cars were everywhere by the 1840's.

So when you mentioned "History" I couldn't resist, for it was the electric car that brought about all the other autos in the world.
Diesel and Gas engine autos didn't come out until the early 1900's.
