I dont think it would be a good idea to remove yourself from the church as there are still a lot of women around who want a church wedding and if you were to meet one and find she was the love of your life it could cause problems for you, opposites attract and all that, reckon you should hold on to your beliefs but dont close the gate on your options.
my answer is money is tight and a wedding doesn't prove that your married, a piece of paper does. Though I don't like that the concept of having a marriage license means anything. It just another way people make money.
