If I were you, I'd run away terrified.
The Italians, Greeks, etc. usually use romantic speech a lot, but that's just the way they like to talk and behave. Btw, I'm a terrible non-romantic person, so don't pay attention.
I have to admit, I like romantic but not over the top.
