Well, I wouldn't be one. Compared to a Blue Chip company CEO, a politician makes peanuts. Moreover, a politician has to pander to all the lobby groups and constituents while trying to balance the national or regional interest. They are virtually on call 18 hours a day and have to watch every word they say, for fear of being misinterpreted by the media and having to answer for every possible extrapolation based on a statement.

Imagine trying to implement policy where one has to keep the business sector happy in order to maintain a healthy economy, without alienating the workers, while trying to please environmentalists.

u2Kitty: But if only lets say 23% are voting - then it would be a strong sign - even the strongest tool we have??

Not really. In fact, it only strengthens their hold.

Politics is a funny thing- a bit of disgusting crud on the bottom of our shoes, and no amount of scraping seems to be able to get it off.

Over here in the U.K., the only man to ever enter parliament with honest intentions was Guy Fawlkes and that was the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 to blow it up!!! laugh
