The same is in real life.And although virtual world seems to have more possibilities/you are in contact with whole the world/,but in practice it's more difficult to get to know people. What is 'the quality' of a blog? Somebody writes about'nothing' and has lots of comments because 'friends' reacted to it very quicly...having a fun,supporting with 'hello,how are you'..'me too,thanx' and so on... So..it is not only so called 'quality',it is also 'likes' and 'dislikes' between people which decide who is popular and who not.
You see..and it is that problem with Cs There is no private chat windows, and it looks like a 'melting pot', but totally crazy, mostly filled with..misunderstanding...
