Jesus was a rich man, is the simple answer. It is almost impossible for any one to reach the level of spiritual growth that Jesus attained, that Buddha attained, that Mohamed attained, that Krishna attained if you are poor. The first rung of the ladder is needed if you are to progress to the next one. First you have to be rich then you can progress to the next piece which is of spiritual growth that will lead you to reach the level of realization and understanding that Jesus and the other founders of modern religions reached. The problem of modern man, who are our today's richest men, is that he is stuck on the first rung. None of them has the courage, the will and the vision that drove the likes of Jesus to go beyond the riches that they had attained, to abandon their life of luxury and pick up the crosses. No man who has an empty belly can find God. His mind will only be occupied by food and not by God. Only when his belly is full can the attention be redirected.
Another way that can help you understand that Jesus was rich is the level and depth of religiousness in the developed world and the less developed world. You will find churches are filling up to bursting capacities in the less developed countries while in the developed countries, churches are being turned into pubs, garages, restaurants etc. The reason for this is that people in less developed countries, with their level of poverty, have tried to go to the next step, which if of finding God, before they take the first step, which is attaining to riches, as Jesus did. This does not work. They will die praying and hoping. In the developed countries, with their level of prosperity, are stuck on the first step which is attaining riches. They don't care about finding God as Jesus did. Hence, you can forget about having another one like Jesus coming from either the less developed or the developed countries.
If you believe that God created everything, and I hope you do, then it is only logical to concluded that He also created riches and if God so loved everything that He created, He must have created it for a reason. Is it not right then to think that God must have created riches so that they can provide us with the first stepping stone towards finding Him. Jesus must have realized this.
And please do not look for answers about whether Jesus was rich or not. You will not find much in there. Be as free as a bird that flies the sky and you will find the answers!
The solution is very very simple. But as with all simple things, it is not simple, not because they are not simple, but because we make them not simple. Get and understand this statement right! The solution lays in awareness of what we are doing all the time. For the woman, she needs to bring awareness in her love to the guy. For the guy, he needs to take his drugs in awareness. This is where the beauty of awareness will reveal itself, magically. This is a very long topic for which we can write a good book about. But the thing to take note of is that when you do things in awareness, the so called bad things will drop on their own accord, without even your effort to drop them. The so called good things, will take over the vacant place left by the departed bad things.In your friend's case, the bad things are the ones that are preventing their relationship from being a smooth sailing. They are the things she does without any awareness and they are many! For the guy, the bad things are equally those he does without awareness. They could be the drugs he has been taking. If he takes them in awareness, the result is very obvious. The awareness, through its magic, will get this habit dropped. If the takes them without awareness, the result again is very much obvious. The situation can only progress from bad to worse. The keys lays deeply buried in awareness.
