Well, I've never been very good at figuring out how the ladies view us guys, but I know a thing or two: people come in all sizes, shapes and kinds. Myself, I like women who are slim, slender, skinny, disappear when she turns sideways. Other men think very differently. That's good: that way, there's somebody for everybody, unless a given body style becomes too fashionable . . .
Anyway, I figure women are like men that way: some like 'em wide, some like like 'em narrow. And that's one of the things that keep the human race in business.

In time, after too many rejections, after being used once and again, and yet again, there are no more tears, only bitterness.
That's when a man can feel free again. It's time now to get to get the fishing tackle ready, and hope the fish don't feel hungry so there's time to reconnect with nature and enjoy the peace. Peace, and time to think (What went wrong? Did she really want only the lesser part, not the greater part, of what I wanted to give? Or did we disagree, without communicating, as to which was the greater and which was the lesser?)
Afterward, coming home to my own place with no one to utter discouraging words, can be a very pleasant end of the day. But something is missing.
