I have to agree with the substance of your post regarding telling the whole truth. Apparently you were brought up to be honest and display integrity.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that in the online world, the lowest common denominator seems to rule the roost. Stupidity and ineptitude are elevated to the same level as excellence and competence, and as a result, by being more astute, educated and proficient than others, they are threatened by your expertise and intimidated.
When you raise up losers to the same plane as the winners, then excellence gets demeaned and is less respected than its sorry alternative.
In other words, the mob runs the show. (And I don't mean the Italians when I say mob).
Chances are when you listed your qualifications, this guy gave undue emphasis to only one aspect of your credentials. You are probably better off dispensing with him anyway and looking elsewhere.
Over the years I have found out that the "culture" of where you work makes a considerable difference because if you are not excited about the environment, you won't be able to fully manifest all of your potential, both intellectual and creative.
I wonder how Bjorn Ulvaeus is getting along. Last I heard he was suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. Truly regrettable.
And Anna-Frida was married to a royal in Lichtenstein, I believe, but she was widowed. I will tell you in no uncertain terms that the video she had in the early-80s while she did a solo act as Frida "I Know There's Something Going On" just made my temperature rise.
