RE: I m upset....

I do not know how you study, but I tell me students to not study harder but study smarter. Too much time is often spent on rote memorization by reading and rereading the same thing over and over again. You might want to spend a little time learning some mnemonic devices (if you do not use these strategies already) to help cut down on your study time.

I know what you are going through as I worked full-time and went to school full-time when I was getting my BA. When I was getting my Masters, I worked two jobs (one full-time and the other part-time) and went to school part-time. Afterward, I had some social anxieties. blushing

Just let you know, youth is all mental. I feel younger now at the age of 42 than I did in my 30s. Believe in yourself.

RE: I forget love feeling

If you have had an intense flu recently, it is pretty much the same feeling as falling in love.

Emilyan...please define "normal". The more "normal" people I meet, the more I think "normal" is merely a label for someone trying to suppress of his or her own abnormality. Besides what is "normal" here in China would not be considered normal in the rest of the world.

Can professors do thing like that?

Yes, of course we can...most profs are wilder than the average person...I guess hanging out with kids in their early-20s does have an impact on us.

RE: Hard to find?!

To the OP, speaking as someone who used to think that finding love was difficult, I found the key was not looking so much and trying so hard. Do the things that make you happy irregardless of someone else. Do not base you happiness on being with someone. In this life, there is one person responsible for your happiness and that is you.

RE: AC/DC Fans

My first rock concert was AC/DC in 1981 at the old Market Square Arena in Indianapolis. It was only a few months before the release of For Those About to Rock and they were huge. MSA was sold out. Even though our seats were close to the top of the arena, we still had a very great view of the stage. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen.

While I agree with most people about Bon Scott being an overall front man, I am a fan of Brian Johnson if only for the fact he was the singer when I really got into the band.

RE: oh god find me a woman

Not to be rude, but why don't you wear shoes with thicker soles? You could gain an inch or two there. And why must you be taller than the woman? I have dated some women taller than me and who had nice long legs and they were awesome. You set you own limits.

RE: HELP ME OUT WITH THOSE

1. Generally life is not fair, but I would argue that we should spend less time getting upset about how unfair life is and spend more time living.

2. I think people hurt because their "wants" become "needs". People tend to hold onto these "needs" and think these "needs" will somehow validate their lives. When we let go of these "needs", we let go of hurting.

3. People pretend because they feel that they must compensate for their own perceived personal flaws. It is easier to pretend than to face reality.

4. Someone much smarter and probably more drunk than me at that time once told me, "You are exactly where you are destined to be, but the rest of your life is up to you." In all honesty, I do not know if life is controlled by free will or by destiny, but why worry about it?

5. Why not? People seem to meet in many bizarre ways. The internet is just as a bizarre place as any to meet someone else.

6. If I ever meet my soulmate then I will believe that one exists. A friend of mine once told me that she believed that we have several soulmates in our lives for different periods we are in. Of course, she said this as she was breaking up with me and moving onto a new guy, but it seemed somewhat...I don't know.

Pavlov's Dog was Smarter

Thanks for the comments CalmHearts...I used my selected words and phrases carefully. The use of "marking my territory" was meant to demonstrate the time I spent on the relationship not on how I viewed her. Everything that I have read about dogs and their "territories" points to much work on the dog's part. Now that you mentioned it, I can see how my words could be misconstrued.

Pavlov's Dog was Smarter

At the time of her leaving, I was not laughing, but now I can. Hopefully, my life has become better. I am happy with it.

RE: Life is tough, but what's not?

It depends upon the person. There are women out there who like doing simple things --like walks in the parks, riding bikes, etc.-- that do not cost a lot of money. Unfortunately, they seem far and few between. The main thing is making yourself happy. Do the pastimes that you like, make yourself happy and things will fall in line.

RE: disabled..

As someone with a "disability", I frankly could care less if someone would date me or not. I have Crohn's Disease and it has almost killed me twice. Still, it has not stopped me from completing my BA and MA, it has not stopped me from traveling overseas and living abroad, and it has not stopped me from being a success. My disability does not define me. Anyone who would refuse to date me upon knowing about this "disability"is frankly not worth my time and thoughts. She can date some guy who cannot keep a job and treats her badly. In all honesty, I think that I have accomplished more in my first 42 years of life than most complete in their entire life, and I am still achieving more.

And yes, I have dated women with disabilities as well. For the most part, I have had a wonderful time. Even though those relationships did not work out for various reasons, I did learn and grow as a individual from them.
