Actually - some of the health insurance comoanies are just starting to come-around on a little of that .......example - Blue Shield allows 12 chiropractic visits /year and will actually pay for a few accupuncture visits etc.... but no herbal remedies yet ...
Think about what you just said .......do you really want natural therapy regulated by the government - when you're already free to use it any way you choose ?
I agree with you - but we'll never see it our lifetime when most of our representatives are lobbied and paid huge perks by these huge drug companies ........
Typically these drugs companies are required to run 3-5 phase studies on patients before FDA approval . Sometimes these phase studies cost hundreds of millions of dollars and take 5-10 years. And we have all seen that sometimes the drugs are pulled off approval after being released and found dangerous..... But my main question is ....if so many want "free-enterprise" - then why is this not a prime example of what they want ?
I'm not agruing with you Bodhi....I've just ratioanlized the fact that sometimes there's an almost acceptable level of crookedness that comes along with every service one is at the mercy of ..........
I can be certain I would be pushing up daisys if it weren't for their research and free drugs programs - since my insurance company would have prefered I croaked .....
To set the record straight ......I too know the drug companies make huge profits . Many people hate them for that and the price they charge for their pills. But here is an example of true "free-enterprise" as some of you put it. These huge corporations have tremendous competition and still they make obscene profits ......so as devils advocate - is that wrong ?
Why not stick with what you know and improve on it ? That's fine - if anything about what we've been doing worked in the last ten years ......otherwise take some risk and try the new JMO
I'de be up for some Halibut or Prime Rib any holiday !
I've decided to blow the bridge accross the great divide tonite at midnite ! All those who want to move forward in life come accross before that time !
