There are no written rules of human engagement, just what you're comfortable with, personally, and being polite, for the most part.

If anything, all they've done is presented another avenue for people to stay in touch, meet others, and for companies to advertise their wares. It's all about the money.

Just be forwarned, I've been eating garlic.



Oh, and another thing, why is it people keep saying IRL (in real life), the "real world", and other such tripe? I've always seen this as merely an extension of this "real world" I see other mentioning, not a video game, or a fantasy life.

Maybe the "real problem" is, that many don't seem to remember there are real live people at the other end, typing away on that keyboard.
