No worries. There is not a person that I do not 'get along' with. We all may have different opinions, but that does not mean that we can't get along. It's simple, really...I can agree to disagree, yet still get along just fine with anyone.
That is your opinion. To answer your question...no, I do not think it is degrading to expect a man to pay for dinner if he is asking to take a lady out to dinner. And just to clarify, I think it goes both ways. If I were to ask a man out for dinner, then I think I should be the one to pay.
If he specifically asks you out for dinner, then yes. Although, I don't think it would hurt to at least offer to take care of the tip, since he's paying for the dinner.
