i think know the pub your on about yea i found some great stuff looking my great grandad was a prison guard in the old jail in kilkenny that how he met my great granny when she was visiting me uncle in jail for been a member of the old IRA in 1919.
the 1500 records were english mate some really old churches were me dad was from england mine were split to found out that my uncle joined the IRA back in 1912 and was caught by the Tans my family were split on my mums during the irsh civil war we owned large amount of land in kilkenny and the States but lost most of it in the 1931 Wall street crash.
My dads side were all Army and Navy and served with the british army righ up till world war 2 from about 1700 i also found an ancestor who severd with the famous pirate called blackbeard.They travel all over the world some interesting stuff.
