Wow he is a really understanding guy and is doing everything in his power to help and be there for her. It's her insecurities that are tainting their great relationship. Loosing that amount of weight will be easy for her since she used to be fit, she is successful and just in a rut at the moment thinking of only work and her man and lazing around. He might want to make a game of it with her get her more excited and interested in going to gym. Once she gets there and gradually improves she will get the adrenalin rush, feel motivated and loose the weight and may even get competitive with him (in lots of ways). But hey thats just my opinion :) and what worked for me.
