RE: Doubts regarding Osama shown death

Alot of people here are adept at shooting down anyone who questions the statements of a government. That's worrying, considering that alot of you come from the most powerful country in the world. An American posted recently that your right to bear arms is part of a larger section of your constitution which says that the people must monitor the government and rise up against it if it does not serve the best interests of the people. Is this true?

One more question. If FOX media and the government told you that Ireland was a terrorist threat, and showed a picture of a truck on the news saying there was a WMD inside, would you support the invasion and bombing of my country without question?

RE: So they finally got him

Bin Laden has been dead or missing for years. Notice how the stream of video tapes he'd been sending to the press dried up? The last one I've heard of was an audio cassette, a tape, which is very easy to produce. Like the WMDs in Iraq, the threat of Bin Laden was kept alive long enough to serve US interests in that part of the world. Pakistan have been engaged in a costly war against the Taliban in their northern provinces, and are effectively US allies. Not that they had much choice.
Saddam was more dangerous alive, because he could have led the insurgency in Iraq and pushed the US back. He was found and killed quickly for that reason.
Bin Laden as a martyr in the early years of the war would have been more dangerous than Bin Laden alive in a cave. Bin Laden in a cave gave the US a reason to traipse all over the Arab nations.
Coincidentally, now that they're pulling out, Bin Laden is dead, and his body which would prove how long he's been dead for is gone - buried at sea.
That is how the US operates, love them or hate them, that's it. If any Americans want to start talking about people who hate the US, go ahead. Just because we think your government is unethical, it doesn't mean we have anything against US citizens. Remember that Freedom of Speech is one of the cornerstones of US society.
