If he is rather thick-skinned say this the next time he makes contact; tell him that you don't see the two of you together; ever!
You can tell him he's a nice guy, but you are NOT interested in dating him and wish him luck in finding someone else.
You might try, you know, someone is looking for you but it’s not me.
If he won't give it up, be firm and ask him if he was listening to anything you said and that you have tried to be open and honest with him – ask, what is it about NO, I’M NOT INTERESTED IN YOU that you don’t understand?
If he's extremely clingy and won't leave you alone, be as blunt as you can be – then say to him that you don’t even see him as a brother (much less a boyfriend).
How about the old standard verbiage of, There has to be some chemistry.
There are many ways to get the message across… need more, just ask; I’ve heard them all.
