RE: U.S. Troops and Vetrans LOVE Ron Paul

As I foreigner I thought I'd chuck my tuppence worth in, but just think about what I have to say first.

I do agree with a lot of Ron Paul has to say, the troops should never of been there, but before you pull them, you need to set a definitive goal, achieve it and then pull out, otherwise you just leave a power vacuum and create more distrust of western nations within the Arab world.

Now for the really controversial bit, it's great that he stands by the constitution, but there is a major problem with the constitution, or at least to a foreigner, it's too rigid, it was created for a particular point in US history, the US has moved on, but the constitution doesn't always.

As for going fully to a free market model for everything, I believe that goes to far as I believe everyone should have the same opportunities to do great things or completely screw up their lives, whether you like it or not the best way to achieve this is free education of a high standard to school leaver age for all and free high quality (as the French and Swedes have) health care for all. Yes this costs money but then morally correct things normally do, and social welfare should not be a dirty phrase in a capitalist world. Just take a look a Japan, the most successful socialist state on the planet, yes most their post war governments have been left wing since the end or World War Two.

RE: Why do we have too many single mothers in usa and canada?

I'm going to answer this question with another question, why did we used to have such lower rates, and I'll give you a hint, it wasn't just divorce was harder, it used to be if you were an unmarried pregnant women your family would hide you away and the child would become a brother/sister or cousin I've even heard cases of the grandparents taking on the children.
Whereas these days we are more open and accepting to these things so unmarried childbirth is no longer hidden, apart from possibly those with extreme religious beliefs of any leaning. I'm only 38, yet went to uni with a girl who didn't find out until she was about 35 the her sister was her mum and her mum her nan, so I for one think we've gone done the right path on this aspect of the stats

RE: Is finding a decent mate easier for men or women?

I think it's just as easy for both, although as we get older we put up more barriers to prevent us finding a decent partner, we all know what we want that we may blank out those that we really need
