The idea of selecting a nationality as a best-of-breed (excuse the pun) for a partner is as false as selecting a breed of dogs for the "best" pet. You have to remember - it was said here already by few - that individuals are just that: individuals. Their culture, upbringing, education, religion, life experience, etc. OR lack of the above, will make them very VERY UNIQUE! There are no guarantees, which seems to me is what you are looking for. Yes, all nationalities have some generalities, but in over 35 years of living abroad (outside of my native country) I can tell you that you simply cannot determine the character of a person by nationality. The other HUGE obstacle no one has talked about is that you will face from day one a culture clash and misunderstandings coming from different expectations. In this case, double whammy: you of him, him of you. Hot vs cold temperaments, east vs west culture, north vs south, you get the idea. That said, LOVE is BLIND. I have seen many happy couples of way different backgrounds. But the things they had in common were deep respect, loyalty, personal compatibility and LOVE. Perhaps, that is a good starting point to look for. It is not a road for the weak though, as you can imagine. Buona fortuna. Ole.
