the one problem i have is that ireland isn't allowed play her anthem, amhrann na fhiann, we have to play together standing strong to appease rugby supporters in the north, i dont see why we cant play our anthem because it upsets a minority of rugby supporters and yet they can play theirs which really upsets the majority of GAA supporters
1916 was a very important part of our history, i dont celebrate it myself because i dont think we showed ourselves in a good light in those actions, if you know what we actually did you'd understand, but i also didnt complain in 98 whenb the orange order had a march in dublin, or when they march in wicklow, cork, or donegal, there is lodges all over ireland and i have nothing against these peaceful lodges, ones who do not march because they can on the historical routes they have always taken, yes they are free to march where and when they want, just like sinn fein or the green party or mary harney. but the march by the orange men lst year was chosen specifically to march past the gpo just to see how far they could go and, although it was the wrong way to go, i do not condone the violence, they had to know they cant have everything there way like they have up north for so many years
i am in no way condoning the violence created by the thugs this time last year, but it in no way means that these people were in the ra, you know the ra and sinn fein are smarter than that. the offical line from sinn fein was yes, let it go ahead, the groups at this march where thugs and a lot of them celtic fans, the green and white hoops could be seen on many rioters, does that mean that celtic f.c. were somehow involved in this thuggery?
freedom to do what you want, if a man wanted to kill another because he felt wronged, would that be freedom because he had the freedom to do it? freedom is a privelge and people take advantage of it, just because you can do it dosen't mean you should
there was a song out, i forget who wrote it or composed it, as i do with most dance songs, the lyrics were "ring ring somebody answer the phone" i heard it once in my local niteclub about 8 yrs ago, everyone checked there phones... got angry... and left the dance floor... i havent heard it there since (remember before you judge mobiles where only out and ring ring was a very common tone)

i always wanted to speak irish, and my kids will defo go to an irish speaking schooljust in school i dont think enough emphahsis was put on using it
