RE: Why do people still believe in God?

I wish to God I had an answer for you, lol. This is the one that I have not experienced or realized yet.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

A notable point Conrad but I merely threw a bone out there for the earnest truth-seeker to follow up on. In my experience it seems that this Eternal, All-pervading Spirit, call it what you may, wants each souls to discover It by its own individual path. So there are as many paths as there are souls.

I am offering the method I learned of because I believe it may work for you as well though not necessarily so.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Now that's more like it. How did God come into being?

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

My good man, the onus is on you to prove this for yourself. I have proven it for myself. There is no way I can prove it to you. I can share with you one method of experiencing this reality if you care.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Yep I'm sure. Have done some traveling myself.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Souls are continuously created in countless numbers in the highest region way beyond the heavens of the conventional religions. These are souls that are still in a state of 'unawareness'. They are inexperienced souls existing in a state of bliss but not fully conscious of their potentials.

Such souls are transported to the lower regions where space and time exist. On the lowest plane (the physical plane), the unconscious souls are put, at first, into rudimentary vessels to gain experience, first as mineral, then as plant. Next comes the small creatures of which there are an abundant variety. This is followed by the animal forms and finally the human form (speaking of planet Earth).

So each soul spends many lifetimes in various embodiments gaining experience and growing in awareness. Between incarnations, most souls vacation on the astral plane (the plane just above the physical), and then prepare with a guide for the next incarnation.

On Earth, when the human level is reached, each soul spends at least 7 lifetimes in each zodiacal sign, alternating between male and female incarnations. The soul starts in Aries and makes its way to Pisces. Its more complicated than this but you get the picture.

As can be understood, each soul gets to experience every facet of existence. Now this does not necessarily mean that a soul must take on the body of everything in creation. It depends on its learning path.

Just as a student in the higher grades at school decides his/her career path, with the help of an advisor, so too does the soul who has come of age, decide what path it wishes to follow.

It is a long process which may take thousands to millions of earth years.

I have tried, in a nutshell, to fulfil your request. I shall take up the remainder of this exposition a bit later as I must get some sleep.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

In my studies and research I came across the following: 'Conventional religion is for the young souls, of which there are an abundance compared to the older more evolved souls. Therefore the prevalence of the five passions (lust, greed, anger, attachment and vanity), is common among the masses. The older soul, disillusioned with what it sees on the earth plane, questions the existence and/or validity of the apparent presiding God/s.'

Earth, like other planets is a training school for souls at all levels of awareness. If you're perfect, you don't have to be here. We are here because we are still growing spiritually. Experience is the best teacher, so here we are in this giant tumbler called earth. Rough diamonds are thrown into the tumbler, and as they bump and rub against one another, they get polished and become precious, sparkling diamonds. One of those diamonds is You.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Incidentally it's not a power struggle but an established hierachy where each higher ruler tries to convince you that he is the supreme Deity. Only the discerning soul makes it out of the matrix but not by itself. There is an old saying, "When the student is ready, the master will appear."

Escaping the matrix finds the liberated in the vast and beautiful God worlds beyond the 7 heavens of conventional religion.

Anyway too much said. Each soul will take up the search when it feels the need to.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Chris its much more complicated than your conception of it. Anybody with earnest research will come across the facts. We are in a real life matrix here, and I'm not talking of the minor matrix created by the Shadow government on earth.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Saleem bhai, Allah is a minor creator God. He can create bodies and but not souls. His jurisdiction is only over the astral plane and this physical dimension. These two regions alone have so many worlds so he tells you "I'm the Lord of the Worlds." Misleading.

Above him are more powerful guys like Khuda, Brahm and Haq (Truth)
Do some research and you'll learn a lot.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Maybe all Gods exist. Maybe we too are Gods in the making. As it says somewhere in a few scriptures "Ye are Gods". This brings to mind a recent song, 'What if God was one of us, just a slob like one of us?'

Apparently the souls who live on the closest plane above this physical can be easily taken for Gods because of their brightness, beauty and powers yet this is only the lowest spiritual plane in the grand hierachy.

In eastern and mid-eastern scriptures, we are told that the divine is experiencing life through each soul and that this is a never-ending process. God or the divine is ever becoming.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Thanks Ekself. I have had many out-of-the-body experiences that have given me the inner conviction that I am not the physical body and not a temporary sentient being. I just seemed to know intuitively, or as a soul or spirit being, that I can never die. Unfortunately I cannot prove this to anyone else. I have realized that each one of us is on our own unique path of self-discovery, and yes, it's not fair to force our unproven beliefs on our fellow travelers. Sure we can voice our opinions and learn from one another but as we are well aware, many a war was the outcome of strongly held, though unproven, religious beliefs.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

I have experienced a love greater than human love where I was taken out of the body and stood before two spiritual adepts. There outpouring of love was overwhelming. I felt that I was not deserving of this unconditional love. Just as quickly I was back in my bed.

This is all great. I have had many experiences with the light n sound of the eternal, all-pervading yet impersonal spirit which gives its love to all through these higher beings.

I have gained joy and satisfaction in all this by the grace of a spiritual teacher however, my ultimate questions will always be, "Why do we have to exist?" and "Why does God exist?" It baffles the mind and the self.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Ekself I have a book which you may find interesting. If you're inclined to have a look at it please forward your email address either here or through my profile, and I'll mail it to you. Thanks.

RE: Why do people still believe in God?

Hullo ekself. That's a great write-up.

You might want to check out this:

If you click on 'What is Eckankar' on the top left you get a sub menu.

The movie 'The Matrix' put it nicely but was about a situation down here. If we look at the matrix on a grander scale, then we see the illusion created by certain being who masquerades as the true Eternal God/Creator. This being guards the access to the hidden realms and allows only those souls who are ready for the next step but It/He does not easily surrender to the discerning soul. One has to see through the illusion and be convinced of the existence of something higher and better.

you have reached the point where you realize this is all a sham, that there has to be something greater than all this. I am babbling at the risk of getting reprimanded for revealing too much.

I trust you find useful information there for your next step. Interesting name.

RE: Is Jesus real ?

Yes he's real. The tomb of Jesus is in Kashmir. His mother Mary is buried in present-day Pakistan. They were traveling on the old spice route to India, (after the "crucifiction", lol), when she passed away. There are records of Jesus' visit to various countries and monasteries.

Google Jesus lived in India -or- The life of Saint Issa.
