I still don't think having preferences about the kind of person you want permernantly in your life is being judgemental though. I do try really hard Not to judge people although I'm sure sometimes I fail The important thing is that I try
Where is the actual line between being judgmental and having preferences??
People who are judgemental get right on my nerves. I'm talking about people who for example will look down on a homeless person, assuming they are there because of their own doing or that they are second class citizens. Same with drug addicts... how do we know that if we had led the life they had, that we wouldn't end up being drug addicts too?
but
For example: If I say I'd rather 'date' someone who is fairly fit and active because I like to ride, hike, swim etc Does that make me judgemental if I turn down the offer of a date from someone who is very very overweight and can't move very much and doesn't intend to?
I'd hate to think of myself being judgmental but its my life and Ive been through some very traumatic events, I have a good idea of the way I'd like it to go in the future... Does it make me judgemental if a few people don't fit into that future??
