Hi there, Living in Southern Ireland I would have grown through the troubles in Northern Ireland and the incredible loss of life that took place. Having a foreign power occupy part of your island, even when you traded those six counties for the governance of the other twenty six, just dosn't work on a daily basis. We are all at the mercy of those who make such decisions. Power exists in three states. It is given to people through democratic election, taken from people through dictatorships and violence or we have people with personal power who use that to bring peace. Northern Ireland brought out heroes on all sides who never gave up on the peace process and these men and women are real patriots.
