I think you are absolutely right, Jacko. You must be very close and supportive to your relocating spouse if she (or he) will be able to stand out the new situation and the new life...
Hello Dandelion What I had in mind when I started this thread was mostly cultural differences, attitudes, manners and human behaviour, along with living standards that you have to share with the local people, like going or driving in the streets, using public transportation, go to a hospital when you may have to (I wish you never need that) etc. Not to mention the situation you will face when you must work in the country where you relocated...
Greece is the only country in the whole civilized world where the drivers DO NOT stop and keep driving when the pedestrians are supposed to cross the road with Green light (GO). Nobody cares about that and nobody does nothing to change that. This is just one of the myriads of facts that reveal the high standard of modern Greek culture. It has nothing to do with money but with human integrity and mutual respect.
If you, dear country fellows, wonder why I still live in this country, the answer is simple. Only because of parenting and other OBLIGATIONS.

Hej Oslotjej Thanks for the interest. Sorry to say that but today's Greece is very poor culturaly and in terms of the general educational level. Hence other problems upraise. Difficult to imagine that you would leave Oslo for relocating to Thessaloniki...
Would you relocate for someone, in a far away country with a life standard lower than yours?
Hi DreamerThank you for your nice comments. You are very kind and thoughtful.
