I think it is possible but time has to work on the recovery, to heal the superficial rest of broken heart sensations. Being friend with an ex is complicate, therefore if it is the one who broke your heart the things are worst. A friendship with him would need strong and new basis, anything with resentments. Time is the best ally in that case
