RE: What is your favorite music?

I've been a lifelong rock and roll guitarist so I like mostly classic rock, but that's anything from Aerosmith to ZZ Top and all the other letters in between. Lately, I've taken up karaoke and have discovered that my voice is more conducive to singing my parents' music, like an old lounge singer..Sinatra, Bennett, Darin, etc. Also, 70's and 80's ballads. Kenny Rogers, Billy Joel, etc.
That video of Badfinger makes me chuckle. My last band, which broke up in January did that song.
Nice to see some neighbors from Western Florida here.

RE: What is worse: to love and lose or having never loved at all?

I'm a widower who was married to the love of my life. I lost her to breast cancer 9 years ago. I feel like I was a very lucky man. I've experienced what so many others never have and maybe never will. I had a woman who was my best friend and my lover.
Because of her, I've developed a new definition of love:

Love is when someone knows everything there is to know about you, and stays with you anyway. The memories are bittersweet. But as I sit here, I can say that. at the ripe ol' age of 64, I'm a man who knows what it means to love someone with his whole heart and soul, and know that she loved me the same. Nothing can ever take that from me. We did everything together: shopping, games, movies..etc.

We used to joke that we were fated to be together because nobody else would have us. So far, that has turned out to be prophetic. But even if I must stay alone till the end of my days. I have her memory and the short 10 years we had together. They seemed like 30.

So, I sincerely believe it is much worse to have never known real love than to have lost it.
