RE: POST-TRUTH

feigning equality*

RE: POST-TRUTH

And that's another truth-avoiding belief around many immigrants. The left will say that they're not backward, they're not primitive, but they are exploited and the right will commonly say they are backward, they are primitive, but they're not exploited. The truth is they're exploited precisely because they're backward and the pretentious act of feigning inequality - the most nauseating form of false modesty the elite could invent when backdropped against huge income inequality and social decay - is harmful all around.

RE: POST-TRUTH

On the one hand I see Trump and despise the repression of liberty and the regression into an infant/pre-modern state of society as terrible, but then the question "are we good enough for liberty?" cannot be truthfully answered with a yes.

RE: POST-TRUTH

Either through active destruction or passive neglect the lies spell death to the west.
They're not just any old lies when most provide the flimsy pretext for a problem child's issues with authority.
They all serve a greater purpose which is as an excuse to not think, rebel and/or slack off in some way.
They're not just any old lies, they're perfect for an infantilised world.

RE: Where do you stand?

Social status and what you think about me are neither here nor there, if I'm going to enjoy this then what's important is that I hate you.

RE: USA Abandoning the free world

I'd say there's a difference between criticising American foreign policy and telling America to have no foreign policy.

You must learn to accept criticism, and btw they now do adulthood classes for adults if you're interested.

RE: Man's Pride

Yea it's usually something bleak and duplicitous here on CS.
Nothing to do with pride. Prudishness when we actually like you can hurt our pride.

RE: What's the most annoying thing about living in a shared house?

You leave your dinner alone for 2 minutes and when you return a sausage has gone.

RE: Man's Pride

Either he literally cannot wait another moment and it's up to you to decide whether that's hot or creepy, OR he's testing to see how game you are.

RE: why do people not like you?

Thank you Pedro for this and so many other threads which have become the springboard to my musings. I bet you've got a wonderful accent.

RE: why do people not like you?

The communication problems of a strong, silent type. I believe that I store up all the things which I don't say and unleash them on here. Anyway, I need to start thanking people and showing to them their value instead of taking it for granted that they know their own value.

RE: why do people not like you?

Closely followed by the appearance of ingratitude. When I do someone a favour I normally take their thanks as a given and I don't expect a favour in return, this means that I expect them to do me a favour without thanks or anything in return, and people don't always like this. Some really respect it, many don't like.

RE: why do people not like you?

I'd have to say flaking and being too picky, Pedro. Outside of a small circle of chosen ones I don't treat people as well as they deserve.

RE: why do people not like you?

Seeing the bad in people and things especially backdropping against low trust and insecurity. In this context acknowledgement is synonymous with judgement and therefore you cannot accept someone warts n all. To accept their warts is a negative influence and so it is better to carry off the air of commercial cheeriness in public and go home to your bottle of bourbon and anti-depressants.

RE: why do people not like you?

Complexity which can go eother way. Those occasional individuals you find beloved by everybody always have that something simple about them.

Remembering you're basically catering to a public with ADHD

RE: why do people not like you?

Big personality, beauty and/or intelligence when lacking tact. People don't forgive how great you are.

RE: why do people not like you?

Two suspicious people having a stand-offish time with the presumption of knowing the other being part of the problem. Normally knowing what the other is about(for real)is a good thing.

RE: How do you think the world will end?

The whole of reality will melt away and a sign will pop up reading 'Level 2'

I'm quite aloof and if I meet someone else that way there is no affection.

RE: FIDEL CASTRO DIES

Without looking I imagine Trump's view will be the same as our Conrad here. Many mistakes were made in the past, and now there's the chance to make them all over again and it's all thanks to the grudge of an old man.

RE: The van Allen belt

I would even suggest the same of quantum physics. I don't believe it's random, I believe we simply have not penetrated the state below the quantum level and therefore cannot determined the mechanics and the pattern. From the position of ignorance things appear random.

RE: The van Allen belt

In any case Charles Darwen(along with Albert Einstein)both believed there was a god.

Science tends towards atheism through people who don't know much about science and reason. It's a little knowledge is a dangerous thing kinda thing. But the more people look into it the more convinced they become that there is an order to all things.
